Story of Robert Bruce and the spider which fell 7 times before it eventually climbed the wall- was a memorable one for me in childhood. It had a beautiful parallelism and a valuable lesson. Sadly, Robert Bruce had been denied his fair due on silver screen so far. But this historically accurate movie makes it worth the wait (one needs to unlearn though whatever 'Braveheart' taught us).
'Outlaw King' makes the costumes, battle sequences and characters more believable. And it doesn't pretend to be what it's not. Slow at times, but ever so masterfully building the narrative arc, it let's a sincere Chris Pine and the debutante powerhouse Rebecca Robin shine with self imposed restraint. Definitely worth the watch for an honest period drama.
